The geostrategic interest made Somaliland as a major political and economic player in horn of Africa. The facts in the ground have generated that world influential powers pays an interest to Somaliland strategic location being close to the Gulf of Aden that leads to Bab el-Mandeb which is a narrow chokepoint through which all maritime traffic from the Mediterranean Sea and the country strategic location is vital for the security in the red sea.  Somaliland borders conforms the borders of European colonial borders drawn during African partition in Africa in 1884. Somaliland territory makes twenty-eight percent (28 %) of former Somali territory and one-third of ex-Somali population.

Almost 12% of the world’s petroleum passes through the Gulf of Aden, which is one of the world’s most important waterways and as a result, protecting the Red Sea is vital interest for global trade. The red Sea and Bab Al-Mandeb Strait are one of the world’s busiest maritime route used to transport oil from Middle Eastern producers. This strategic location close to the Gulf of Aden near the entrance to the Bab al-Mandeb, a major sea-lane through which almost one-third of the world’s shipping passes. Somaliland strategic location is considered nation wealth of the nation said by Somaliland president, Muse Bihi Abdi. The geopolitical competition in horn of Africa made Somaliland as a vital political player in the region in view of Somaliland strategic position.

The strategic location of Somaliland is a corridor that links three continents namely Africa, Asia and Europe together. Somaliland port city, Berbera is adjacent to this important shipping lane and as a result, the rise of maritime global trade made Somaliland port city Berbera as regional shipping hub in horn of Africa Somaliland untouched 800 KM coastline located in one of best strategic positions which is the entrance of Gulf of Aden and the red sea. DP world investment deal with Somaliland will enhance socioeconomic development for Somaliland.

The investment deal is an asset for Somaliland people that cannot be estimated in terms of value. Somaliland strategic location is uncontested strategically. Zooming up, security, democracy, stability, security, democracy, diplomacy success and trade have found fertile ground in Somaliland. My third book I have written about Somaliland is running at finishing stage. The name of the book and when to be published will be notified to the public shortly.
