To whom it may concern,

We wish to appeal to you on be half of Mr. Mohamoud Ali Suleiman aka Ramaah  who is the subject of our deepest concern.

The international Community is very worried about voices calling prosecution of senior politician Mr. Mohamoud Ali Suleiman aka Ramah who is said to be unjustly accused of insurrection and incitement as he was exercising his role as constructive opposition. Attempts to prosecute senior opposition politicians are cheap, politicised attempts to score goals against them. Immunity allows the opposition politician to remain focused on serving the people his time in opposition rather than being distracted. This is seen as desirable because the role of the opposition politician is to serve the interests of his or her constituents widely, and in Mr. Ramah case his main constituents are in Sahil, Berbera as capital.

The best way to hold politicians accountable is to let the electorate decide. In a free society with media scrutiny voters can judge politicians at elections and choose whether to support them or not, taking into account all that is known about their past actions and indiscretions.

Prosecution of a senior politician as Mr. Mohamed Sidiq Dhamme or parliamentarian like Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Dhakool damages the dignity of office. It is important that politicians are not scared to speak out, for example to encourage free and open parliamentary debate and so encourage optimal law-making .Even where the accusation may have some basis, it is better for the dignity of the office to ignore individual wrongdoing and retain the façade of the role.

Finally we condemn all attempts by Heego actors to inappropriately influence judicial processes in Somaliland…

Islamic clerk like Sheikh Aden Sunne ,politicians like Mohamed Sidiq Dhamme , parliamentarians like Mohamed Ahmed Dhakool , Journalists like Abdimalik Sheikh Muse Oldon and much more all are extra-judicially detained ……Can we say  Somaliland nowadays is like a pretty girl with a lot of makeup, but the inside is dark and dirty that is why our brothers from Warsangeli Clan  don’t want to date her any more …….
