One simple act for refugees…

Dear OodweynenewsMedia reader  – While the horror of children separated from parents unfolds in the USA and we, like others around the world, are expressing outrage, we also need to shine a spotlight on what is happening to child refugees here in the UK.

Right now, for thousands of refugees in the UK, safety comes at a heavy price.

The UK government’s strict and unfair rules have forced apart mums and dads from their children or elderly parents to be left behind far from their loved ones. This is having a devastating impact on people separated from their loved ones.

This has to change. Can you do one simple act for refugees and tell Home Secretary Sajid Javid to reunite more refugee families?

MPs from all parties support refugee family reunion. Earlier this year 131 MPs voted in favour of a Bill proposing to change the rules so families can be reunited in the UK.

But these changes will not become a reality until the government gets behind them. Sajid Javid could make this happen with the stroke of a pen.

Home Secretary: Bring #FamiliesTogether

The UN has just announced today that more people are fleeing conflict and persecution than any time in the past 70 years. The UK government can and must do more to help.

Oodweynenews reader, join us to demand these unjust rules are changed, so more refugee families can be reunited in the UK:
